Agent Newsreader - Usenet seems to be dying, but if you still read the occasional newsgroup I recommend Forté's Agent.
HTML-Kit - Excellent, and free, HTML editor. Somewhat scary for new web designers due to the number of features.
Mozilla.org - Home of Mozilla Firefox, an excellent web browser that is much faster, and less prone to viruses, than Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Thunderbird, a very good e-mail client.
Pegasus Mail - A full-featured e-mail client. It is open source and free, too! Has all the features of Eudora without it being "annoyware". It has none of the vulnerabilities of Microsoft Outlook. I used this extensively before I switched to Thunderbird and Gmail.
The Risks Digest - The archive for the comp.risks newsgroup. This is a moderated newsgroup with about one post every other week. It documents risks that arise from the use of computers and technology. The people posting are mostly computer and security professionals. Everyone could benefit from reading this newsgroup.
VMyths.com - An excellent virus mythos web site. Everyone should go here before forwarding the latest virus myth e-mail to every person in their address book. Be aware that the the author does go off on personal rants every now and again.
W3C's HTML Home Page - This is the home of the official specification for HTML and XML. Although "dense", it explains all aspects of the HTML and XML markup languages.
Xenu - Xenu is a freeware program that checks web sites for broken links. This is an excellent tool for checking the integrity of a web site.
Game Links
BattleLust Support Page - BattleLust is the skirmish miniatures game by Columbia games set in its Harn roleplaying universe. It's a good game, particularly for Dark Ages combat. I wrote the Japanese samurai rules that appear on this page.
Roco Minitanks Collector's Club - Roco Minitanks are mostly pre-assembled 1/87 scale military vehicles. Their line of modern NATO vehicles is extensive, their World War II line is much smaller. I have kit-bashed a number of these vehicles for sci-fi games. This is an ugly site, but the content is hard to find elsewhere.
Samurai Miniatures Page - Dedicated to samurai miniatures for wargaming (particularly in 25mm).
Supremacy Review - Web Grognards posted this review I did of the board game Supremacy, taken from Usenet. I no longer own the game.
The Miniatures Page - The best resource page on the web for miniatures and miniature wargames.
Web Grognards - Grognard refers to French Napoleonic veterans (from the French word grogner, meaning "to grumble"). The modern use of the term refers to serious wargamers. This site is the wargaming resource site on the Web.

The Dilbert Zone - Scott Adams' comic strip of corporate stupidity. A blueprint of my career at Kodak...
Dork Tower - John Kovalic is a comic artist and miniatures gamer. His site includes political cartoons and Dork Tower, a comic about gamers and gaming.
Get Fuzzy - Currently the funniest comic in print. It can be fairly twisted at times. If you have a cat or a dog, you should get where this is coming from. You will have to choose "Get Fuzzy" from the drop down menu from this site. While you're at it, check out Frazz, which is also very funny.
Kevin and Kell - Anthropomorphic comic strip. Kevin is a rabbit, and sysop of the Herbivore chat forum. His wife is a wolf and number one predator in Herdthinners, Inc. Funny send up of modern living.
Red Meat - Max Cannon's hilariously sick comic strip! For those who like their humour dark...

Historic Scotland - Historic Scotland run's Scotland's ancient buildings and ruins. Scotland's castles that are no longer in private ownership fall under the domain of Historic Scotland.
Jane's - Jane's is the authority on defence systems, and military affairs the world over. I'm a fan of their computer simulations, too.
The National Trust for Scotland - The National Trust for Scotland buys up historically significant land and preserves it. They run the battlefields of Bannockburn and Culloden.
Scotland Online - An excellent starting point for Scottish sites on the web.
Photography Links
Canon - I'm a long time Nikon owner, but my first foray into digital photography was with a Canon PowerShot A40 camera. Canon makes some impressive "point and shoot" digital cameras with enough features to satisfy serious amateurs.
Eastman-Kodak - Whatever I might think of the company's management practices (ahem), they still make the best photographic film in the world. Too bad that they have their collective heads buried in the sand with regard to digital imaging...
Nikon - I'm a very satisfied Nikon customer! When the back door of my camera broke a couple of years ago, Nikon sent a replacement part out quickly, and for a reasonable price.
Urban Legend Links
The Urban Legends Archive - This is an excellent resource for anyone interested in urban legends!
Urban Legends Reference Pages - More urban legends information, for those of you that just can't get enough.
